The union government has successfully inaugurated 17 compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Hassan district of Karnataka. AG&P Pratham, a leading city gas distribution (CGD) firm, is working on developing CGD infrastructure in 12 geographical areas (GA) covering 35 districts across the country. Besides, out of 35 districts, 15 belong to the state of Karnataka. Moreover, it is planning to spend around Rs 150 billion in coming years to establish around 1,500 more CNG stations and provide piped natural gas (PNG) connectivity to over 10 million households.
