Mumbai Coastal Road will be completed by May 2024

Centre has announced that the Mumbai Coastal Road is slated for completion by the end of May 2024. Delays did not contribute to the increased expenses; rather, realignments prompted by demands from Worli fishermen led to cost adjustments. Despite disruptions caused by court orders, the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, and protests by Koli fishermen, the project remains on track for its May 31, 2024, deadline. The Coastal Road Project, initiated in October 2018, will link to the Bandra Worli Sea Link via a bridge, enhancing connectivity in the region. Delays have been attributed to external factors, with cost variations primarily attributed to tax adjustments and additional project elements.
