IR is expected to spend Rs 7,000 billion to lay 50,000 km of new train tracks by 2033. For 2023-24 period, funds worth Rs 318.5 billion were allocated for new lines as compared to Rs 260 billion and Rs 210 billion for 2022-23 and 2021-22 respectively.
