Construction work on the new Pamban railway bridge is expected to be completed by February 2024. The project involves the construction of a new 2.05 km long bridge near Pamban Bridge in Tamil Nadu in lieu of the existing Scherzer rolling lift bridge on the Mandapam-Pamban rail line. It entails an investment of Rs 5.6 billion and will be a vertical lift bridge.
