MoU signed with AAI for airports and expansions

The Gujarat government has signed an MoU with the Airports Autho­rity of India (AAI) to conduct technical feasibility studies for 11 propo­sed greenfield and brownfield airports and to expand six airports and three airstrips. Identified locations for the proposed airports in­clude An­klesh­war, Morbi, Rajpipla, Botad, Dwarka, Dhordo, Rajula, Da­hod, Am­baji, Dh­o­lavira and Palitana. The existing airports proposed for ex­pansion are Bhavnagar, Kandla, Porbandar, Surat, Vadodara and Ke­sh­od. Fur­ther, the expansion of existing airstrips at Mehsana, Amreli and Mandvi is under consideration, with feasibility studies to be conducted. Techno-economic feasibility studies and land acquisition studies for setting up greenfield airports at Ke­vadia, Vadnagar and Siddh­pur will also be conducted.
