The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of Rs 10 billion to facilitate the enhancement and upgradation of highways in Madhya Pradesh. The project aims to incorporate climate- and disaster-resilient designs, innovative road safety elements and facilities catering to the needs of diverse demographics, including the elderly, women, children and individuals with disabilities. This initiative builds upon ADB’s continued support for road development in Madhya Pradesh since 2002, encompassing the upgrade of over 9,000 km of state highways and major district roads. The project will enhance connectivity in the state road network across 14 districts, fostering a balanced economic development.
