Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has acquired two project SPVs, namely Ramgarh II Transmission Limited and Beawar Dausa Transmission Limited. This acquisition comes as part of the transmission system projects designed for power evacuation from the renewable energy zone in Rajasthan, specifically targeting 20 GW under Phase-III, Part C1, and Part H. Powergrid competed with various private sector players and emerged as the successful bidder in the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process. Ramgarh II Transmission Limited is tasked with implementing a transmission system that includes a new 765/400 kV sub-station at Ramgarh, along with a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) at Ramgarh, a 765kV D/C transmission line, and associated bay extension works at the existing sub-station (Bhadla-III) in Rajasthan.
