The Guwahati Jal Board has announced the commissioning of 18 additional district-metered areas (DMAs) by December 2023 under the Guwahati water supply project assisted by JICA. This initiative targets extending water supply coverage to 15,077 households to benefit around 75,385 residents in the city. The project would be commissioned in phases.
