In accordance with the government’s Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), REC Limited and KfW have inked a $215 million financing agreement to improve the distribution infrastructure of distribution companies (discoms). This signifies REC’s sixth credit line within the framework of the Indo-German Development Cooperation.
The partnership with KfW is anticipated to significantly improve discom’s operational and financial resilience, which will ultimately support the country’s power sector reforms and the larger objectives of the RDSS plan. Aiding discoms in enhancing operational efficiencies and financial sustainability through results-linked financial assistance, REC serves as the nodal agency for the RDSS.
