Railways’ expenditure on safety stood at Rs 791.09 billion in 2022-23

The expenditure on rail safety has increased from Rs 604.5 billion in 2018-19 to Rs 791.09 billion in 2022-23. During 2022-23, the centre allocated Rs 67.69 billion for rail safety, while the northern and southern zone allocated Rs 93.67 billion and Rs 57.88 billion respectively. Further, the expenditure on health and hygiene has also increased from Rs 15.11 billion in 2018-19 to Rs 22.46 billion in 2022-23.
