Kankaria station under Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro to be operational by February 2024

Kankaria East station under East-West Corridor (Thaltej-Vastral) of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Rail Project -Phase I is likely to be operational by February 2024. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) conducted inspection of the station on December 13, 2023. Besides, work at Sabarmati station is likely to be completed soon. Phase I of the project has two corridors viz. East-West corridor, of approximately 20.73 km length with 17 stations and North-South corridor of approximately 18.52 Km length with 15 stations, comprising of at-grade, elevated and underground sections. Currently, 37.85 km under the project is operational whereas, 1.4 km long Thaltej-Thaltej Gam stretch is still under construction.
