Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway expected to be completed by July 2025

The Bengaluru-Chennai expressway, initially slated for completion by October 2024, is encountering extended delays, primarily attributed to slow progress in a stretch in Andhra Pradesh.

Presently standing at 51.5 per cent overall completion, the comprehensive 262 km project is now expected to be finished by June 2025. The expressway aims to reduce travel distance between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu by 13 per cent, cutting travel time from six to seven hours to just two hours.

Progress varies across phases, with Karnataka at 78.10 per cent completion, while the fifth phase lags at 10.05 per cent. The project seeks to enhance connectivity, benefiting regions like Kolar, Chittoor, Vellore, Kancheepuram, and Chennai.
