Electrification of about 2,082 km of the railway lines have been completed under the Ambala Railway Division. Excluding the Kalka-Shimla railway line which is a narrow-gauge line, all other broad-gauge lines have been electrified. The project entailed an investment of Rs 5.47 billion under track electrification. Also, 13 substations have been set up for this purpose.
