Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is likely to commence preliminary work related to land acquisition for the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project – Phase III soon.
In the initial stage, about 100 acres of land is required for construction of depot and viaducts under the project. Out of which, 75 acres has been identified for the construction of a depot on Magadi Road. Also, joint survey of the properties identified for acquisition is likely to commence soon.
The project involves construction of 44.65 km long route and have two elevated corridors: Corridor I-32.15 km long JP Nagar Phase IV-Kempapura stretch along the Outer Ring Road (ORR); and Corridor II-12.5 km long Hosahalli-Kadabgere stretch on Magadi Road. A total of 31 stations are planned under the project. It will be implemented by BMRCL at an estimated cost of Rs 156 billion.
