The construction work for the Nagpur Metro Rail Project-Phase II commenced on November 22, 2023. Phase II of the project involves expansion of the metro network in Nagpur, Maharashtra by 43.8 km to provide connectivity to nearby towns and villages. It will comprise of a total of 35 stations and four corridors; multi-modal international cargo hub and airport at Nagpur (MIHAN)- Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) ESR (Corridor 1, 18.6 km), Prajapati Nagar-Kapsi (Corridor 2, 5.5 km), Lokmanya Nagar-Hingna (Corridor 3, 6.7 km), and Kanhan River-Automotive Square (Corridor 4, 13 km). It is being implemented by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MAHA-METRO) at an estimated cost of Rs 59.76 billion.
