Work commences for development of Bhogapuram Airport

Construction work for the Bhogapuram Greenfield International Airport Project (Vizianagaram) commenced on November 1, 2023. The project involves the design, building, financing, construction, development, up­gra­dation, modernisation, operation and maintenance of an airport under the PPP mode in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. It will be implemented in three phases, with Phase I, which has a capacity of six million passengers per annum (mppa), is expected to cost Rs 45.92 billion. The capacity will be increased to 12 mppa and 18 mppa in Phase II and Phase III respectively.
