SWR registers 10 per cent increase in revenue

South Western Railways (SWR) has reportedly registered a gross revenue of Rs 42.88 billion in the April-October period of 2023-24, 10.44 per cent higher than the gross revenue registered in the corresponding period from last year (Rs 38.83 billion). The revenue from passenger services for the six-month period amounted to Rs 18.02 billion, representing a significant growth of 15.2 per cent over the revenue of Rs 15.64 billion in the April-October period of 2022. Additionally, SWR reported freight revenue to the tune of Rs 27.41 billion, an 11.66 per cent increase.
