On October 30, 2023, a new departure gate was opened at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport, Patna. The airport has been facing congestion issues for a while. With the opening of the new gate, two additional lanes have been added. This is meant to ensure that no inconvenience is faced by passengers while boarding flights, and is expected to help in reducing the long queues at the airport.
