DPA updates berthing policy for Deendayal Port

The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) recently updated the berthing policy for Deendayal Port, allowing any vessel scheduled to be shifted out before completion of cargo work to continue cargo operation till the next immediate suitable tide time, subject to the payment of additional berth hire charges or penalty charges. However, in case there is no taker for the berth, the vessel will be permitted to continue till completion of cargo operations upon payment of additional berth hire charges or penalty charges, till the vessel vacates the berth. In case a bagged cargo vessel under the general group is not able to complete cargo operations, an additional time up to a maximum of 48 hours will be allotted for this. However, this will be subject to the payment of one-time (100 per cent) additional normal berth hire charges for the extra hours. Moreover, in case a tanker vessel is not able to complete cargo operations as per norms, it will be allowed to do so subject to payment of one-time (100 per cent) additional normal berth hire charges for the extra hours.
