Tamil Nadu government laid foundation stone for water supply and sewerage project at Kottivakkam, Pallavakkam, and Neelankarai in Chennai

The Government of Tamil Nadu has laid the foundation stone for the water supply and sewerage project at Kottivakkam, Pallavakkam, and Neelankarai in Sholinganallur Zone, Chennai. These projects include the development of water distribution network of 51.65 km, upstream reservoir of 2.2 million litres and a downstream reservoir of 0.5 million litres and providing water connections to 4,986 households. Sewerage works include providing underground sewage connections to 12,776 households benefiting 103,971 residents. Additionally, the Chennai Metro Water Board will construct pumping stations, pipeline of 139 km and mechanical bores. The estimated cost of these projects is Rs 4.95 billion.
