T1 transformation at Bengaluru airport

Terminal 1 at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has witnessed the completion of a major terminal transformation. The former international area has been repurposed, creating an expansive and dedicated space for domestic operations. Three additional conveyor belts have been installed at the terminal. Nine new contact stands have also been installed to supplement the eight ones that currently exist at the airport. Further, a new pre-embarkation security check (PESC) area with an automated tray retrieval system (ATRS) has also been activated. Other measures include the better access to buggies at the security holding area (SHA) for persons with reduced mobility (PRM) and elderly passengers.
