IOLPL plans to expand Ennore LNG Terminal

The joint venture of IOCL, Indian Oil LNG, is planning to invest funds worth Rs 34 billion to double the capacity of Ennore LNG terminal inside Kamarajar Port in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The proposed expansion involves increasing the capacity of LNG terminal to 10 mtpa along with development of a 20 million cubic metres per day (mscmd) LNG storage and regasification facility. The terminal would then supply clean energy in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Besides, Engineers India Limited is likely to conduct the environmental impact assessment and rapid risk assessment studies for the project. The project is likely to be commissioned in 54 months from the date of approval by the board.
