In a notable development, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has acquired Mercator Petroleum Limited in an insolvency proceeding for Rs 1.48 billion.
MPL had won an oil and gas exploration block, CB-ONN-2005/9 in Cambay basin, Gujarat with potential oil discovery of 45.5 million barrels in place reserves.
