Construction work commenced for the development of the Bhogapuram Greenfield International Airport Project (Vizianagaram) on November 1, 2023. The project involves the design, build, finance, construction, development, upgradation, modernisation, operation and maintenance (O&M) of the airport under public-private partnership (PPP) mode in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. It will be implemented in three phases, with phase I at an estimated cost of Rs 45.92 billion with a capacity of six million passengers per annum (mppa). Besides, it will be increased to 12 mppa and 18 mppa in phase II and phase III respectively.
