The newly developed Air Traffic Control Centre at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) received a new Air Traffic Management (ATM) automation system on October 26, 2023. It aims to enhance the flights’ operational efficiency while ensuring safety in the skies. Reportedly, the indigenously developed ATM automation system would also provide controllers with conflict prediction or alert warning and decision-making tools. The in-house developed technologies of the system include a situation display for air traffic controllers, surveillance data processing, and others.
