During the Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS) 2023, 360 memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with an investment requirement of Rs 8.35 trillion were signed. Besides, investible projects worth Rs 1.68 trillion were announced. These MoUs focus on various industries of maritime sector such as port development and modernisation, green hydrogen and ammonia, port led development, business and commerce, ship building, knowledge sharing and port connectivity. Discussions were held around sustainable development with green ports and shipping. Additionally, the summit highlighted opportunities in the India’s cruise sector. The government is also planning to release a holistic Cruise Promotion Policy.
