The NHAI has approved funds worth Rs 5,600 million for implementation of road projects in Kerala. It includes various development works on four sites of the Kasaragod-Talapady and Thiruvananthapuram-Karode stretches. The approval has also been granted for construction of a flyover in Eanchakkal, underpass in Anayara and Poovar, and a service road bridge in Thiruvallam.
NHAI has also approved the construction of a bypass in Muvattupuzha and Kothamangalam, at an estimated cost of Rs 20 billion.
Besides, an underpass will be built at eight points along the Mannuthy-Edappally and Walayar-Vadakkancherry NHs. Meanwhile, the construction of three major projects in Kerala that is Thiruvananthapuram Ring Road, Ernakulam Bypass, and Edaman-Kadampattukonam NH are facing delay as the state has not yet signed the construction agreement with NHAI.
