The Jharkhand government has approved 65 hectares of forest land out of the 99 hectares requested by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the Dhalbhumgarh greenfield airport project (Jamshedpur airport). Meanwhile, for the remaining 35 hectares, three out of five villages have granted their approval. The project, being implemented by AAI, involves the development of a greenfield airport at the Dhalbhumgarh block in Jamshedpur district, with an estimated investment of Rs 3 billion. The airport will have a 3.5 km runway and will be equipped with world-class facilities.
