Central Railway’s (CR) freight loading for September 2023 stood at 5.76 mt, exceeding the September 2022 loading of 5.65 mt by 1.9 per cent, making it the highest loading for any September till date. Cumulatively, in the April-September period of 2023-24, CR registered a total loading of 41.66 mt, a significant 9.7 per cent increase from freight loading in the corresponding period of 2022-23 (37.99 mt). This also represents the highest annual originating loading ever recorded on CR. Meanwhile, CR registered a freight revenue of Rs 6.1 billion in September 2023, a substantial improvement from the Rs 5.71 billion recorded in September 2022.
