CMRS approves operations commencement on on Byappanahalli-KR Puram stretch of Bengaluru Metro

The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety has approved the commencement of operations on the Byappanahalli-KR Puram stretch of the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase II. Commercial operations at the Challaghatta-Kengeri and Byappanahalli-KR Puram stretches are likely to commence soon. About 85 per cent of tunnelling work (17.93 km out of 20.99 km) has been completed on the Gottigere-Nagawara corridor (Re­ach 6) of the project. Civil and track-laying works on the stretch are likely to be completed by the second half of 2024. Besides, more than 50 per cent of the work has been completed on the following stations: Langford Town, Shivaji Nagar, Cantonment & Pottery Town, Tannery Road, Venka­te­shpura and Nagavara.
