BSNL collaborates with Indian army to set up first BTS in Siachen

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has collaborated with the Indian army to establish the first base transceiver station (BTS) in Siachen to facilitate mobile communication for soldiers stationed at 15,000 feet or above. The BTS has been established at a forward post with the Siachen Warriors, a specialised army unit located on a glacier in Ladakh.
