The Government of Jharkhand has approved 65 hectares of forest land out of 99 hectares demanded by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the Dhalbhumgarh greenfield airport project (Jamshedpur Airport). Meanwhile, for the remaining 35 hectares, three out of five villages have granted their approval. The project, being implemented by AAI, involves the development of a greenfield airport at Dhalbhumgarh block in Jamshedpur district of Jharkhand, entailing an estimated investment of Rs 3 billion. The airport will consist of a 3.5 km runway and will be equipped with world-class facilities.
