The construction of a faecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP) in the Rudrapur district, Uttarakhand is about to be completed under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation programme. The plant would ensure sustainable waste management with a capacity of 125 kilolitres per day and is located near Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited on the Kichha Bypass Road. The FSTP also harnesses solar energy to ensure uninterrupted operations in case of power failures.
