About 80 per cent work on RuB/tunnel completed on Dwarka-Manesar Expressway Project

About 80 per cent of construction work has been completed on the Road-under-Bridge (RuB)/tunnel connecting Haryana border to the IGI Airport in Delhi on the Dwarka-Manesar Expressway Project (Northern Peripheral Road Project/Gurgaon-Dwarka Expressway).

Besides another RuB connecting National Highway (NH-8) to terminal 3 of the airport, 50 per cent of the work on the tunnel structure has been completed.

RuB 1 (Haryana border to the IGI Airport in Delhi) involves construction of 3.6 km long eight lane tunnel and RuB 2 (NH-8) to Terminal 3) involves construction of 2.5 km long six lane tunnel. Both RuBs fall under package I of the project.

The project involves construction of 29 km long expressway connecting Dwarka and Manesar to provide an alternative link between Delhi and Gurgaon at an estimated cost of Rs 86.62 billion.
It will connect Dwarka and Kherki Daula situated on the NH-8 and is a part of the Gurgaon-Manesar Master Plan 2031.

It will also connect Palam Vihar, South-West Delhi and the proposed special economic zone (SEZ) in Gurgaon to NH-8 and bypass at Pataudi Road.
