SJVN signs PPA with BBMB for solar project development

SJVN Green Energy Limited has signed power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) for the development of 18 MW solar power. This project will be developed on BBMB’s land parcels in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The project has been secured through open competitive bidding process, with a tariff of Rs 2.63 per unit in a reverse auction organised by the Punjab Energy Development Agency. In its initial year of operation, the project is projected to generate 39.42 million units (MUs) of energy, and its cumulative energy generation over 25 years is estimated at approximately 917 MUs. The project is anticipated to reduce carbon emissions by 44,923 tonnes and is scheduled to be commissioned by August 2024.
