Powergrid bags 20 GW clean energy evacuation project in Rajasthan

The Power Grid Corporation of India (Powergrid) has secured an order to evacuate energy from 20 GW, Phase III, Part C1 renewable energy zones in Rajasthan for the implementation of an inter-state transmission system project. The project will be created on the basis of a build, own, operate and, transfer model. Powergrid will be responsible for the construction of 765 KV double-circuit transmission lines, with extension of relevant bays at existing substations in the state. Furthermore, it will be responsible for ensuring the substations are located within 1 km of the location’s radius. The project is scheduled to commence operations within 18 months of power purchase agreement’s effective date.
