The Gateway Terminals India (GTI- APM Terminals Mumbai) has recently announced the commencement of operation on its refurbished berth with new advanced quay cranes. This will enable the terminal to accommodate and turn around larger vessels safely and quickly. The terminal went through its future-proofing project, known as “Fit for Future”, under which it invested in infrastructure development. At present, the civil work is ongoing for extending the terminal’s south bridge and installing dolphin moors, which will be completed by early 2024, thereby increasing the container handling capacity of GTI by 10 per cent to 2.18 million twenty foot-equivalent units.
