The Government of Tamil Nadu has laid the foundation stone for the Coimbatore Western Ring Road Project (Phase I). Phase I involves the construction of an 11.8 km long four-lane western ring road in Coimbatore city, including the construction of two vehicular underpasses, minor bridges and junction improvements, spanning from 0 km to 11.8 km. About 95 per cent of land acquisition has been completed. The project is being implemented in the EPC mode.
