IR to introduce FRS on railway stations

In order to enhance passenger safety and security, IR has unveiled plans to introduce a state-of-the-art facial recognition system (FRS) at major stations, including the prominent Patna Junction in the Danapur division of the East Central Railway. It will be based on and powered by artificial intelligence technology. The key objective is to fortify security measures by directly linking the FRS to an existing database containing records of criminal activities occurring within and around railway station premises. IR has identified approximately 200 stations for comprehensive security enhancement.
