Air traffic at Sahnewal airport resumes

Air traffic from the Sahnewal airport resumed on September 6, 2023, after the Hindon-Ludhiana-Hindon flight was flagged off. The fare for the first three months from Ludhiana to NCR would be Rs 999. The flight is set to operate five days a week initially, which would be increased to daily flights from next month. Reportedly, the viability gap funding (VGF) of around Rs 11,829, on all 19 tickets would be borne by the state government. For all the 19 seats, the VGF would be provided per ticket for the one side journey, with the state share being 20 per cent. Reportedly, Ludhiana will also be connected with Dehradun in the coming days.
