Reportedly, IR’s investment and expenditure in ongoing infrastructure and safety projects pan India in the April-July period of 2023-24 has crossed Rs 1 trillion. The gross budgetary support for 2023-24 stands at Rs 2.60 trillion crore. IR has invested and utilised nearly 40 per cent of the gross budgetary support, i.e. Rs 1.01 trillion. In 2022-23, the total capex utilisation till July 2022 was Rs 638.87 billion, i.e 31 per cent of the gross budgetary support of 2022-23.
