Alstom Transport India Limited has delivered the first train set to Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) for the Indore Metro Rail Project- Phase I. The train-set is part of a larger 156 coach rolling stock and Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling contract with Bhopal Metro Project. Besides, MPMRCL will assemble the coaches, conduct static tests, and dynamic tests on the test track with an aim to launch trial runs on the main-line by mid-September. Moreover, the second train-set is likely to be delivered to Bhopal Metro’s Subhash Nagar depot by September 20, 2023. The Indore metro project involves development of a metro rail transit system comprising ring line of length 33.53 km at an estimated cost of Rs 75 billion.
