The Ministry of Power (MoP) has issued a guideline for tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) process for procurement of power from grid connected wind solar hybrid projects. The objective of the guidelines is to promote competitive procurement of electricity from grid connected wind solar hybrid power projects, by distribution licensees, to protect consumer interests. The guideline aims to facilitate renewable capacity addition and fulfilment of renewable purchase obligation requirement of discoms. These guidelines will apply to all upcoming wind-solar hybrid power projects of 10 MW and above capacity for intra-state transmission, and 50 MW and above for inter-state transmission, with or without energy storage. However, at least 33 per cent of the total capacity must be from either wind or solar resources.
