Growth in transmission line length

  • As of March 2023, the total transmission line length (at the 220 kV and above level) stands at 471,341 ckt km.
  • Between 1998-99 and 2022-23, the line length has grown at a CAGR of nearly 5.5 per cent.

Trends in AT&C losses

  • The aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses of distribution utilities have declined progressively over the last two decades.
  •  In 2021-22, AT&C losses stood at 16.42 per cent, against 22.25 per cent in the preceding year.
