Groundwork started on drinking water project in Siliguru under AMRUT 2.0

Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) has begun the groundwork for a Rs 5.11 billion drinking water project under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0. The engineering department of SMC has started scrutinising the technical details of the project which were submitted by three agencies in a recent tender. The details would be sent to authorities responsible under the AMRUT programme for approval upon the completion of scrutiny. The first phase of the project includes laying pipelines, setting up a power substation and constructing an intake well at an estimated cost of Rs 2.11 billion.
