TWAD board orders completion of three water supply projects under the Pillur scheme

Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board has ordered the completion of construction works of the three water supply projects under the Pillur scheme before its trial run on September 10, 2023. The project is scheduled for commissioning by the end of September 2023. The inspection of the project was carried out near Mettupalayam and the Kurichi-Kuniyamuthur underground drainage works. These three projects are estimated to cost Rs 7.8 billion with a capacity to supply 178.30 mld of water from the Bavani River once completed. It involves the construction of a treatment plant, pumping station, tunnel, storage tanks, and installation of water pipelines.
