PM e-Bus Sewa approved by Union Cabinet to improve city bus operations

PM-eBus Sewa has been approved by the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Indian prime minister, for expanding city bus service by 10,000 electric buses(e-buses). The augmentation will be done on the basis of public-private partnership model. The anticipated cost of the scheme is Rs 576.13 billion, out of which the central government will contribute Rs 200 billion in assistance. The bus operations will be receiving support from the scheme for a period of 10 years. The scheme will cover all capital cities of union territories, the North Eastern region, and hilly states, as well as cities with a population of three lakh or more as of the 2011 census. Priority will be given to cities with no organised bus service under this plan.
SJVN Green secures 90 MW of floating solar project in Madhya Pradesh
SJVN Green Energy Limited,a subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has secured Omkareshwar floating solar project with a capacity of 90 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.79 per kWh. The project will be situated in Madhya Pradesh and will be developed on the basis of build, own, operate model. The project has been won under tariff-based competitive bidding process followed by e-reverse auction. The tender was issued by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL). The company will enter into a power purchase agreement with RUMSL and Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited after receiving a letter of award. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 6.1 billion.
