Project for water consumption reduction inaugurated at Sagardighi Thermal Power Station

A project to reduce water consumption at the Sagardighi Thermal Power Station was inaugurated on August 4, 2023. This project is aimed to reduce water consumption by recovery of water through the reduce, recycle and reuse approach. At present, the plant requires around 0.13 million cubic meter of water daily. This project will be helpful in achieving compliance with environmental norms of zero discharge and reducing the present requirement of raw water even after the station’s capacity augmentation. The expected recovery of water from the project is around 40,000 cubic meters.
