Centre inaugurates two sections of Pune Metro Rail Project – Phase I

The Union Government has inaugurated two sections viz. between Phugewadi- to Civil Court and Garware College- to Ruby Hall Clinic Station of the Pune Metro Rail Project – Phase I on August 1, 2023.
Phase I of the Pune metro project involves the development of a 31.48 km long metro rail network in Pune, Maharashtra with an investment of Rs 114.2 billion. It comprises two corridors; Pimpri-Chinchwad (Nigdi)-Swargate via Agriculture College (Corridor 1) and Vanaz-Ramwadi via Deccan Gymkhana, Yerawada (Corridor 2). It will be implemented by Maha-Metro, a 50:50 jointly owned company of Government of India (GoI) and Government of Maharashtra (GoM).
