Chandigarh airport’s cargo complex operationalised

An integrated cargo complex was operationalised at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport in Chandigarh on July 28, 2023. It covers a total area of 2,400 square meters with five sheds worth a total cost of Rs 124.5 million. It currently handles domestic cargo, with international cargo awaiting customs clearance. Smooth and seamless functioning at the cargo complex is ensured at the airport through the deployment of the latest equipment like cold rooms, reefer vans, forklifts, scissors lifts, pallets, user-friendly weighing scales and trolleys. High-security measures like CCTV, door frame metal detectors, explosive trace detectors, and X-rays are also equipped at the airport.
